Beauty Tips by Audrey Hepburn
As off-the-cuff and irreverant as I often am in this blog, I do consider beauty a quality that comes from within. True beauty eminates from the bearer as light does from the sun. While there are people that we consider attractive and are drawn to because of their looks, there are people that are attractive due to their inherent beauty. These people possess compassion, goodness, modesty, kindness and humility. They are compelled to give without headlines. They are the ones that we gravitate toward because of their big hearts.
Beauty is not about how big your boobs are or how big your hair is. It’s not about wearing the latest designer wear. It has nothing to do with how great your makeup looks or how toned your body is. True beauty is much more. Truly, Audrey Hepburn’s words about beauty embrace this beauty philosophy. These are words that I have printed and framed as a reminder of the beautiful person I strive to be.

For attractive lips,
Speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes,
Seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure,
Share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair,
Let a child run his fingers through it once a day.
For poise,
Walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored,
renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed.
Never throw out anybody.
Remember: if you ever need a helping hand,
you’ll find One at the end of your arm.
As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands.
One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

That’s great, but did you know that Audrey never wrote that? She only recited it to her children, and people got the impression that she had written it. In fact, it was written by a man called Sam Richardson.
