Frizz Factor – Take Control of Frizzy Hair

by

Does your hair recoil at the very thought of humidity? Do you fight to get a comb through your tresses after each shampoo? Does a blow-out leave you looking like you stuck your finger in a light socket? If so, you are no doubt fighting a major case of the frizzies. You can easily tame frizziness with a few products that will leave your hair smooth - even on the dreariest day.

Stacey Miller, of DiPietro Todd Salon in San Francisco is a stylist who specializes in cuts. Stacey has first-hand experience in working with frizzy hair. Her choice product line is Rene Furterer. She became so familiar with Rene Furterer hair products that she was named the in-house educator for her salon.

According to Stacey, “All Rene Furterer products that I use leave the hair feeling soft and natural. Each shampoo is specifically engineered for specific hair textures, types, and/or scalp issues, so it is very important to choose the proper one for your individual scalp and hair. If you choose the proper products, you will find your hair feeling healthier and more manageable. Part of the [Rene Furterer] secret is that they work to keep the scalp healthy; and if the scalp is healthy, then the hair will grow in healthier.?

To get a handle on your frizzies, try Rene Furterer heavy hitters. A pre-softening treatment can work wonders for taming frizzy hair. Often frizzy hair is simply ultra dry hair. This condition can be a result of over-styling, coloring or perming. Rene Furterer Karite Intense Nutrition Oil is an excellent pre-shampoo treatment that hydrates and brings luster and shine back to hair.

If you have recently chemically treated your hair, an intense conditioning treatment may be in order. Karite Intense Nourishing Conditioning Cream is just the ticket - it deeply restructures dry, devitalized hair. If deep conditioning is not necessary, opt for Karite No-Rinse Nutritive Concentrate, a reparative leave-in conditioner. Both products soften the hair, making it manageable and frizz-free.

What are your styling options? Play it straight by blow-drying with Fioravanti Anti-Frizz Straightening Gel. Stacey says, “My favorite styling product is the Fioravanti Straightening Gel. I love it because it’s very versatile and can be used on a variety of hair densities and textures; it always leaves the hair soft and shiny without feeling weighed down.? Heat activates this product, so be sure to use a brush to pull hair straight while using the blow dryer.

Or, let your natural curl bounce into center stage with a dose of Anti-Frizz High Control Emulsion. Stacey cautions that a little goes a long way with this product. Her styling tip, “You can either diffuse with it in, or blow it out with a round brush. Your hair will feel light and sleek without the heaviness that is often experienced with anti-frizz products. It also protects your hair from moisture in the air.?

More insider tips from Stacey…
>Mix gels with leave-in conditioners – this nourishes your hair while giving it a light hold that will maintain your style throughout the day.
>For finer hair textures, keep heavier products away from the scalp (leave-ins, creams, etc.) These products can cause the scalp and hair to appear greasy.
>Alternate the Karite and Anti-Frizz products. Karite nourishes hair and moisturizes while the Anti-Frizz products make the blowout process easier, while creating a shiny and sleek appearance.

Frizz free hair — definitely HOT!

You suggested mixing gel and leave-in…Mixed Chicks products have a product (a leave-in) that holds like a gel, but leaves hair soft to touch.
