What to wear to work!
Sometimes makeup form of individual expression clashes with working environment and whether we would like very much that others wouldn’t judge job performance because of the type of makeup one wears, clearly in most of today’s working environments this doesn’t happen and we can’t wear whatever we please.
Sure, MAC’s Parrot eyeshadow looks fabulous on you, but with some glittery eyeliner, fake eyelashes and hot pink lipstick and your boss might think it’s just a bit too much for the office environment.
So, what to do? Resign yourself and wear only neutrals and feel castrated in your form of expression, become infuriated because people are judging your job performance because of what color of blush you wear? I say neither, definitely one has to tone it down, but it can become a bit of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman game for you. All you have to do is play with color intensity and finishes to create two new different personas. Wear the Parrot, but apply it softly, leave the glitter eyeliner aside and wear a matte one, forgot about the fake eyelashes and wear a good volumizing mascara that will still make your eyes pop.
My personal take on this is that one shouldn’t go to extremes, meaning if you’re a colorful and vivacious person you shouldn’t start wearing just gray and brown because definitely you will not feel in your skin and that will make you uncomfortable. Instead explore color intensities and you’ll easily overcome the feeling.
